No, there is a slight prickly feeling which some say is similar to an elastic band pinging against your skin. The device has built in cooling technology which eases any discomfort.
Four weeks. You must ensure any areas that are exposed to UV rays are covered in a minimum of SPF 30 to avoid any potential side effects (burns) from the laser. If I identify any sunburn or active tan during your pre treatment consultation I will refuse the treatment and you will lose your deposit.
Avoid using self tanning products 7-10 days before treatment. If the laser detects pigmentation from the fake tan on your skin, it may burn you. If I identify any fake tan during your pre treatment consultation I will refuse the treatment and you will lose your deposit.
If anybody accompanies you to your treatment there is a small waiting area with a lockable door outside of the treatment room. For safety purposes, only the client and technician can be in the treatment room whilst the laser is operating.
Always. If you are a Fitzpatrick skin type 1 - 3, you can be treated 7 days after your patch test. If you are a Fitzpatrick skin type 4 - 6 you can be treated 12 days after your skin patch test has been completed. You must wear SPF 30 as a minimum in between your test patch and treatment date. (See About page for more information on this).
If you are having any intimate laser treatment, it is advisable to (where you can!) book this around your period as your intimate area will be more sensitive during this time. You can still come for other areas and come back in a few days for your intimate area!
The laser will not be able to pick up the pigment in white, blonde or grey hair. Therefore, laser hair removal treatment is not suitable for anybody with this colour body hair.
None, you can head straight out after your treatment however, we reccomend you wearing loose fitting clothes as the treated areas may feel sensitive for up to 48 hours after your appointment. It is advisable that you do not shave the treated area until 5 days have passed in order to let your hair shed.
Comfortable clothes that are easy to take on and off. We provide disposabe paper thongs for you to wear if you prefer some privacy whilst having intimate hair removal. For armpit treatments you can wear a sleeveless top and keep this on during your session. For full leg you can stay in your own knickers.
You will require an annual top up around twelve months after your course ends (or sooner if you feel it is required or if you suffer with any hormonal imbalances/PCOS that cause your hair to grow at a quicker rate).
Occasionally, clients may experience temporary reddening, irritation, skin peeling and sensitivity. It is important to stay hydrated and stick to your pre and post treatment advice that is emailed to you at the time of booking.
After your first appointment, your hair may appear to be 'popping' out of their follicles, leave this for 5 days before exfoliating. Within 10 days you will start to notice a dramatic reduction in hair appearance. You will attend between 6 - 8 sessions, 6 weeks apart and at the end will be silky smooth and hair free!
We cannot laser tattooed areas however, we can treat the skin around this. We will cover your tattoo's whilst the treatment is ongoing.
Yes! Please wait for 5 days after treatment to let the hair shed fall out before shaving. Do not wax/pluck or epilate at all between sessions, only shave.
None. You can head back to work after your appointment. Please avoid physical exercise, swimming pools and saunas for 48 hours before and after the session.
Hair popping is when the laser hits the hair root in the bulb and fires the hair out of your skin during the laser appointment. Many clients (and technicians) find 'hair popping' super satisfying! The hair that does not 'pop' during your treatment will shed in the days after.
If you are choosing not to breast feed, you can be treated 3 months after your baby is born. If you are breast feeding, you can be treated 3 months after your breast feeding journey has ended.
If you have cancer you can be treated 5 years after your treatment has ended, you will need a Dr's letter confirming this. You cannot be treated if you have type 1 diabetes and if you have type 2 diabetes you will require a Dr's letter confirming that you are suitable for laser treatment. You cannot be treated if you are on any auto immune medications, blood thinners, have pigment issues, are on any medications that can cause photo sensitivity issues or if you are on any anti inflammatory medications.
For appointments cancelled within 48 hours of the appointment time, we charge 50% of the service total. For appointments cancelled within 24 hours of the appointment time or any 'No-show' appointments we charge 100% of the service total.
